Late Summer Hummingbirds in Essex
August & September 2009
Male Hummingbirds are the first to head south each year leaving the
adult females and young of the year to enjoy
the abundance of flowers late summer offers. The last Hummer of the year, an
adult female,
was seen on Sept. 23 with the last photo below of her taken on Sept. 21
Only 6 months to go before their return...:)

It was loads of fun watching all of these Hummingbirds interact
over the summer. I'm certainly looking forward to May '10! |
