Our 1st snow brought more attention to the feeders than they've seen all fall. The Screech Owl above flew into the box
at 6 a.m., just over my head as I shoveled out the feeders. He stayed for the day and posed late in the afternoon
for the photos below. The Red-Shouldered Hawk & Cooper's Hawk both visited the yard through the day.

A most cooperative Owl!

This is the 2nd winter an adult Red-Shouldered Hawk
has spent time in the yard just after a snow
storm. They nested in the area this summer,
chasing other raptors from the area and
flying with young this fall just down the
road from the house.


This adult Cooper's Hawk has been spending quite a bit of time in the yard this fall. A hatch year has been around as well.
