Yellow-headed Blackbird
Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus

The Yellow-headed Blackbird spent time today at both Dock Lane and
Mudnock St in Salisbury. I came across the
bird across from #61 Mudnock and the above sign. I'd stay out of the yard!

Mudnock Street is an easier location to visit with fewer houses and a
wider road at the end where the Blackbirds perch up.
There is a stand of phragmites across from #61 Mudnock that the
Blackbirds roost in. They use the trees above this area as
a rest spot through the day as well as visiting feeders in the
neighborhood.

This apparent female YHBB was found roosting with several Brown-headed Cowbirds at the end of Dock Lane.
